UFC 246 is one of the top three highest-grossing UFC events on PPV

There were a couple of controversial matchmaking decisions on the UFC 246 card, and the main fight of Conor McGregor (22-4) against Donald Cerrone (36-14) lasted only 40 seconds, but this did not prevent the tournament from becoming one of the highest grossing tournaments in the history of the promotion.

“On Wresting Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer said UFC 246 is equivalent to 2 million PPV under the old pre-ESPN+ system,” Raimondi wrote.

If true, this is the second most successful PPV event in UFC history:

1. UFC 229: Khabib vs. McGregor – 2,400,000 PPV.

3. UFC 202: Diaz vs. McGregor 2 – 1,600,000 PPV.

Curiously, in the Top 7 highest-grossing UFC shows on PPV 6 cards, an Irishman led.

The 246th numbered tournament of the strongest American mixed martial arts promotion UFC has just ended at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas (Nevada), in the main event of which MMA fans will have the long-awaited return to the octagon of the former two-division champion Conor McGregor, who decided to compete in welterweight with organization veteran Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone.
